How to Best Eat Dried Matsutake Mushrooms?

Unread post by admin »

Dried matsutake mushrooms are a type of all-natural fungi that have been dried to remove moisture. They can be effectively utilized in various dishes such as matsutake soup, stir-fried matsutake with meat, and pan-fried matsutake.

Matsutake Soup: Clean and prepare a old hen (or chicken), then clean the matsutake mushrooms and soak them. Cut the chicken into pieces and place it together with the matsutake in a clay pot. Bring it to a boil over high heat, then simmer on low heat for about 1 to 2 hours, adding salt to taste.

Stir-fried Matsutake with Meat: Heat oil in a pan until it’s about 70-80% hot, then add the meat and stir-fry. If using pork belly, cook it thoroughly to release its aroma and fat, then add bell peppers and continue to stir-fry. Next, add the soaked matsutake and garlic slices, finishing with soy sauce. Sprinkle a suitable amount of salt before serving.

Pan-fried Matsutake: After soaking and cleaning the matsutake, drain the excess water and slice them. Melt some butter in a pan over low heat, add a suitable amount of salt, and fry the slices until both sides are golden brown.

Dried matsutake mushrooms have various benefits, such as enhancing physical strength, aiding digestion, relieving pain, regulating qi, expelling phlegm, combating aging, and boosting immunity. It’s important to consume them in moderation; excessive intake may lead to adverse symptoms, in which case medical attention should be sought, along with following medical advice.
